Do you appreciate the life you're already living?
And by that, I mean are you happy? Do you wake up every morning feeling like you won the lottery of life?
Does your life make you feel alive?
Or do you wake up like most people feeling like it's just another day you have to go through?
Because it's very much possible to appreciate the life you're already living, while working towards creating your dream life. (Because as we all know, overnight success does not exist.)
How To Appreciate The Life You're Already Living
1. Practice gratitude.
Whether you'd like to acknowledge it or not, there are good things happening in your life.
So often, we only want to focus on the bad and negative. Everything that's going wrong.
And we say to ourselves, " This always happen to me."
But is it really always happening to you, or are you choosing to only see the negative?
Exercise: Write a list including everything you love about your life and a list including everything that is going well in your life.

2. Choose to see life as half full (instead of half empty).
What we focus on, we tend to get more of.
We've all heard the phrase: "Misery loves company."
Have you ever been to a happy hour? It literally feels like people gathering around to complain about your job.
And trust me, I get it. Your job probably sucks.
But the more you complain, the more miserable you're going to feel. And the more you're going to enable yourself (and others) to continue feeling this way.
I'm sure that there are at least a few good things about your job. Maybe even the people you work on.
If we see life as empty half, that's what we're going to keep getting.
So until we start choosing (because it's a choice) to see life as half fall, it's going to continue feeling like not enough.
It's not about what happens to you, it's about how you react to it.
Your attitude says it all.
3. Stop comparing your life to others.
"Comparing myself to others makes me feel so much better about myself!!" - said no one ever.
If you're always comparing yourself to others and talking about how good others have it, you don't give yourself the chance to appreciate your own life.
We want to think the grass is greener everywhere else but in our own life, but really, our own grass can just be as green as everyone else's.
But that requires changing your mindset and attitude.
It requires doing the inner work and learning to love and appreciate yourself.
It means practicing gratitude, cutting out the noise, and setting healthy boundaries.
It means cutting out the negativity in your life, which includes the people who complain and enable you to complain too.
It's hard work, but it's worth it.
Because you deserve to live a life you love.
And guess what the best part is? You're already living it.
Now you just have to start appreciating it too.
The green grass has potential to grow wherever you water it.
It's time to stop neglecting your life and start taking care of yourself.
I'd love to hear from you.
