issue 01: COMMUNITY

The second issue of the magazine is "I am...".
The idea behind this concept is to claim our space in the world and to embrace who we are. To love ourselves, our work, our voices, our passions, and our lives unconditionally and unapologetically.
Are you an activist, feminist, writer, storyteller, artist, entrepreneur, barista, photographer, musician, calligrapher, etc.? How about a daughter, mother, niece, aunt, best friend, sister, etc.? Are you a woman of color? A 1st generation Asian-American? A woman who is struggling with her body?
It's not about putting a label on ourselves and calling it a day, because as you may know, we're all complex human beings.
It is, however, about sharing our experiences and shining some light into our day to day lives and sharing a bit about the complexity of who we are. It's about using our voices and making an impact. It's about education and growth. It's about collaboration, community, and honest conversations.
It's about becoming the women we want to see in the world by setting an example.
It's about you. It's about me. It's about all of us. It's about us coming together from all walks of life.
As a wise friend once told me, "You don't have to do it alone". So, let's do this. Together.

Because when we show up and share our stories, we create and hold the space for others to do so as well. Being authentic and vulnerable are not easy things to do, but they are brave things to do. And the truth is... change starts with us.
Many of us were taught and conditioned to believe that we should stay small, quiet, and unseen. I want to challenge that, and I hope you do too.
Let's refine the beauty stands in our society. Let's rock the boat a little. Or a lot. Let's start showing up, for ourselves and for those around us.
Let's make our faces seen, our voices heard, and our stories matter.
